White-boy street funk. This song was enormously fun to play live and a popular selection in the set. Also, we could jam it out FOREEEEEVER. Listening to the vocal performance, I laugh now when I hear the odd cadences and inflections I appropriated subconciously, probably in an attempt to feel more "street". I do enjoy some of the lyrics still though. Just for fun, try to figure out what the heck I'm saying in the bridge, after the guitar solo. Yeah, I don't know either...good times.

Lyrics

ANOTHER DAY GONE

VS.1
I'm barely alive in the heat, it's pushing my guts all the way
Down on the corner feeling like a superstar.
It'll be okay.
I flew in from five different coasts.
Fresh from the press I'm the man
Pickin' up your language, and I pick up your dimes
Gonna buy myself some coffee gonna buy a real good time before another day's gone.
Back on the corner, said Billie was wearing a dress
Ripped up her hem on a nail
Put together like a jigsaw puzzle, baby
Hope that her pieces will sell
Nervous like cats on a tease
Just walking on needles and cake
She got a big fat plate of American tradition and it make her belly

Chorus
Yeah, she got to give it up before another day's gone
Give it up before another day's gone gone gone

VS.2
Bring out your bacon and beans
Living in your old tin can
Some folks have met the good lord Jesus
Others just throw up their hands
But I'm a natural man
Lord I can do as I please
Everyone's screaming about their rights, what about responsibilities

CHORUS

BRIDGE
Baby this world is getting tired(4x)

CHORUS OUT
